As-Salaam Aliekuem Wa Rahmatullah. I suppose that this has been a long time in the making. In the beginning, I was born in Peoria, Illinois, then my family moved to San Diego, California when I was 8 years old.  Growing up here as a youth I was heavily involved with the underground hip-hop scene as well as the Hardcore straight-edge movement that opened some questions to me and prepared me for a self journey. So at age 17 I took shahadah. At age 19 I moved to Virginia to complete my undergraduate studies in Sociology at Hampton University. From there to New York City then took bayat and instruction from Sheykh Abdul Kerim a deputy of Sheykh Nazim Haqqani of Cyprus. Since  November 2005 have lived back in California where I now reside with my wife and son in Rancho San Diego.  33 years old. As a profession, Work as a Mental Health Specialist for  the last 11 years. Also sell Realty on the side. Presently a writer for the San Diego based, Islamic newspaper in the Spirituality section entitled ‘Path of the Heart’ the name of the paper is called “Quest”.  All writings from the paper can be found under the “Quest” section on this blog.
